Working for Cronkite News as a health disparities reporter, I've gotten the chance to explore the health issues that affect underrepresented communities (BIPOC, low-income populations, women, those with severe mental illness, etc.) and worked on long form, in-depth pieces on topics such as thermal inequities in urban areas, lack of inpatient, involuntary treatment for those with serious mental conditions, the growth of restaurant portions and its impact, mental health treatments for Latino youth, and women of color who experience burnout in STEM fields, as well as two pieces of coverage for the 2024 election.
Interviews/Q+A
Over the past few years, I've written numerous artist, entrepreneur, and creative interviews. Artist interviews include singer Dreamer Isioma, rap artist Wallie the Sensei and singer Wyatt Flores. Other interviews include DJ Disco Shrine, David Tyra, the owner of Barcoa PHX, the director of the Phoenix Film Festival, the cast of independent feature film "From Black," and the creator of the Taste of Japan pop-up event.
