My name is Shiaira "Shi" Bradley (she/her) and I'm a senior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. I have freelanced for publications like Phoenix New Times, Phoenix Magazine, and Arcadia News. I also have written longform pieces for publications such as UNIA Magazine, Cronkite News, and The State press/

 

Currently, I am interning as PBS Newshour West, where I assist with script and production duties and serve as executive editor of The Downtown Devil. Additionally, I am a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News/Arizona PBS and I formerly interned  for The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Magazine. I also used to host a show on Blaze Radio. I formerly worked as an audience intern for The Arizona Republic and an editorial intern for Phoenix Magazine, as well as holding an editor role for The State Press. I also used to host a show on Blaze Radio and anchor on The Cut Network, a student-led news network.

I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Word, Canvas and Google tools. I am well-versed in AP style, news style, longform and magazine writing, grammar, and journalism ethics. I am also proficient in social media and exploring tools like SEO and analytics.  Lastly, in addition to studying journalism, I am minoring in business, so I have familiarity with accounting, management, marketing, and advertising principles.

With a passion for arts, culture, and entertainment, it is my dream to works as a culture, lifestyle, or entertainment journalist. I will be continuing my studies next year at the Cronkite school, earning a master's degree in mass communication, where I will continue to hone my skills in news and longform writing, production, photography, social media, and broadcast/on-air reporting.
